About Us

GreenHaven Aegis employs consultants in a variety of specialties, including:

  • Web Design
  • Graphic Design
  • Programming
  • Database Development
  • Network Engineering
  • General Technology Consultation

The typical engagement would first involve a discussion about your organizational and business priorities. We want to gain a basic understanding of your business structure before proceeding to technical discussions. We then proceed to a Technical Needs Analysis. What do you want to accomplish with technology? What are the goals or problems you'd like to address? In this phase, we examine existing infrastructure and technology, user needs, business needs and ensure we have a common understanding of what is to be accomplished with the owner/manager of the organization. We will then take our findings from the Needs Analysis and examine them and return to provide some proposed ways to accomplish your goals. These may take the form a formal in-depth proposal or they may be a simple set of recommendations, depending on the need and scope of the project. Should the project be longer term, we would provide anticipated timelines and who the personnel assigned to the project would be. We assign personnel based on the unique requirements of each project, both technically and based on the business experience and personality "fit" of our consultants for your organization. We strive to ensure there is good communication and understanding between our consultants and your staff, maximizing both the technical and interpersonal elements to create the best working outcome possible with the least amount of stress and hassle.

Greenhaven History

Greenhaven Aegis started as an offshoot of two companies; Education Technology, Inc. (ETI) and Informatics Information Services, Inc.  ETI was a company serving the K-12 and Higher Education market, providing technology products and services to education institutions throughout the Pacific Northwest, California, Nevada and Alaska. Started by the owner of ETI, John Ullis, and Dave Parkhurst, current President of Greenhaven, the companies had a reputation of expert knowledge and dedication to education clients. Informatics was formed to provide Web-Based services to local area organizations and education clients during the height of the Internet Boom and served clients throughout the US. Some of the first websites created for local business, education service districts and schools in the Northwest were created by Informatics.

When John sold ETI and retired, Dave took over Informatics full time and changed the name to Greenhaven Aegis to reflect the unique nature of the Pacific Northwest and focused on providing technology consulting and web based services to clients from the stand point of the clients goals and a solid business relationship. The company differentiates itself from other technology providers by focusing first on the organizational goals of the client and not just the technology. Technology is used to support the organization and it’s goals, not as end in itself. In this way, Greenhaven is unique in the marketplace.

Greenhaven has been developing and hosting websites in the Pacific Northwest since the beginning of the World Wide Web in the early 1990s. These represent a pioneering effort of the company and our personnel that are still with us 16 years later! The staying power beyond many of our competitors and the longevity of clients (and friendships maintained even with organizations that no longer use our services for web site publishing) speaks to the integrity, experience and respect in the community that our company and staff enjoy.

The Greenhaven Method: The company is in the business of attracting, retaining and creating great benefit for long term clients. We seek to do this by understanding the client needs and exceeding their expectations. We do not seek thousands clients or position ourselves as providers of off-the-shelf software. We establish and serve each client as a unique and uniquely important organization and build our relationship long term by finding ways to help the client meet their goals.

As much as possible, we use low-cost and free Open Source products to keep clients product acquisition costs as low as possible. We recognize that the greatest benefit we can offer to clients is in our expert understanding and abilities with technology, business and publications. We charge, very reasonably, for our time and expertise. This is how we earn our living. Most of the products that we deploy in the Open Source domain, although we are very particular about which products we will deploy.

Further, to the extent the client desires, we help the client achieve as much technology independence as possible. In other words, unlike many technology companies, we do not hold you hostage to our technology or skills. While it may be an overused word, we believe in empowering our clients to do as much of the content editing and maintaining as they want! In particular, we believe that clients have the best understanding and access to information that will be published online and that in most cases, it’s unnecessary to pay us to post it. Our solutions are very user friendly and allow the client to edit their own information without help from us.  We are always available, however, to serve whatever needs the client has, whether in further more complex development, training or just visioning where the project can go.
